Our Products

Furfural and its derivatives have been extensively used a wide range of industries. Furfural is a natural precursor to a range of furan-based chemicals and solvents such as Furfuryl Alcohol, 2-Methyltetrahydrofuran, Furoic acid and more.

Polymers & resins

Our polymers and resins serve a broad range of applications, from their use in composite materials to acting as binders in heavy industries, such as the NO-bake foundry process.

Furfural

Furfural has an aromatic odour reminiscent of almonds. This biomass-based chemical is a hetero-aromatic aldehyde with exceptional physical properties.

Furfuryl Alcohol

Furfuryl alcohol is the highest-volume derivative of furfural and at TFC we produce over 40 000 MT on an annual basis.

2-Methyltetrahydrofuran

2-Methyltetrahydrofuran (MeTHF) is a bio-solvent which finds solvent applications in Grignard reactions for API synthesis, extractions, organometallic reactions and even as a potential additive in biofuels.

Tetrahydrofurfuryl Alcohol

Tetrahydrofurfuryl Alcohol (THFA) is a biomass-based solvent or intermediate produced by catalytic hydrogenation of Furfuryl Alcohol.

2-Methylfuran

2-Methylfuran is a furfural derivative with applications as an intermediate for chemicals and pharmaceuticals such as antimalarial drugs and perfumes.

Butyl Levulinate

Butyl Levulinate is a biobased solvent with high solvency power and very low toxicity. Possible markets are paints & coatings, industrial cleaning solutions and agriculture.
